Growing My Hair 2015 - March Update

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

I'm finally noticing a difference myself, people have commented my hair is getting longer and I'm feeling so much happier about it. There have been nice comments which I'm not used to at all! I find it so hard to take compliments.

My hair really feels like it needs a trim but I'm planning on holding off till the end of May. Waiting till just before my holiday in June.

However, I'm feeling a bit torn really. If I have it trimmed now and they cut it too short it will have a chance to grow. On the other hand, it will feel like it needs cutting again before I go away. My only concern is what if they cut it too short in June? I guess I'm going to have to wait and see. What would you do? I think I will wait.

It's still not quite long enough to get all up in one bobble but it's really close, I'm also loving my 90s top knot vibe that I've been rocking the past couple of weeks.

I'm trying to wash it less often, I tend to wash it every day and I know that isn't great for it but my hair gets greasy very quickly. I've tried leaving it for days when I've been off and I just can't do it for more than 3 days,

I've changed to using a solid bar shampoo and conditioner from Lush. It's stripping the colour out of my hair pretty quickly but I can happily get 2-3 days between washes. Which for my hair is amazing for me. I need to use dry shampoo on it but I'm not getting the feeling dirty or me thinking it looks dirty.

I've seen Shampoo in Urban Outfitters that I'm thinking about trying. Not Your Mothers way - Grow Your Hair Long and strong, I don't think it will actually help my hair to grow but I need to read up on it. I think if I go for a growth shampoo again it will be the Lee Stafford as I know it suits my hair.

These are the pictures from Last month. I think I can see a difference in the past month,
Can you see a difference?

I have my hair just down past my shoulders now. I get it trimmed every 6-8 weeks but she only takes of the very ends. You will be surprised how much quicker it grows if you get it trimmed regular xxx

  3. I know I really should but it cost as much for a trim as a full cut and last time I asked for a trim just the dead ends it ended up shorter than the previous 2 hair cuts! scares me a bit x

  7. Hi, Not sure why my bit came up twice?! feel free to delete one! JoBaz is brilliant Im sure you can get it in loads of places; I bought it on the off chance when I stripped the colour out of my hair, firstly I used colourb4 (£12) & it was rubbish my hair was an odd peachy /brassy colour & smelt like school glue!!! I spotted the JoBaz colour lift in savers (about £3) & thought "well this cant get any worse!) It was brilliant my hairdresser actually thought I had gone to another salon to rectify my colour. It lifted the awfull brassy icky colour & got it pretty damn close to my natural colour. My hair is growing out (SLOWLY) & its like little kid hair all fine & floaty & doest really hold a style/plait anything tbh. My hairdresser said to try a collagen shampoo/conditioner but it just made my hair more limp

  8. Cont* So I Googled shampoo for fine hair & it brought up caffeine shampoos (all retailing in double figures) like planture39 etc, I was not guna spend a tenner on shampoo & a tenner on conditioner (EVER!) but when I popped into town I spied the JoBaz st in Savers for £1.99 each I thought it worth a shot, I've been using it for about 3 weeks & my hair already feels better & stronger & shiny. Friends have commented on how good my hair looks so it must be doing something! Apologies for loooong reply! But if you do get a chance to try it or any of that range do, its cheap so if you don't like it you haven't lost out x

  9. Never apologise for a long comment. I'll defo keep an eye out. I've looked for Savers and there are none local to me but they have them in places I'm likely to go to in the near future. I will be keeping my eye out for it in other places. They sell it on fragrance direct but it's out of stock.

  10. I keep thinking about the shampoo i;ve seen in urban outfitters but I don't want to spend £16 on shampoo and conditioner. I don't mind buying the lee stafford stuff when it's on offer as I know I like it but If I can get something as good or similar for under a fiver it will make me happy x
