#NWBloggerMeet in LiverpoolSunday, March 15, 2015
Katie from Curvaceous Beauty organised a blogger event in Liverpool a couple of weekends ago. I've not been to Liverpool for about three years so jumped at the chance to attend. I love meeting other bloggers. I'm still not great at introducing myself to people or starting a conversation but I went on my own and had a fantastic time.
The event was about 15 minuets walk from the city centre in the Baltic Quarter. The Button Boutique is an event and craft space and is a cracking little venue.
While I was there I heard people saying they wanted to hold a party there and someone else mentioned they were looking into going to one of the craft classes. Gemma who runs the boutique was really lovely and friendly and had put on some tea and cakes for us all.
I still don't think I took everything in from the venue. Everywhere had something hand crafted in a pretty displayed.
I've been lusting after sewing machines for a while and the brightly coloured ones really have caught my eye. I really haven't got room or use of one but just look at how pretty they are
The day started with a talk from Georgina from She Might Be Loved who gave us some tip on all aspects of blogging. I'm looking forward to reading her post.
I have started to take some of the things she said of board and I had already started some things such as a regular schedule as I blog about different topics but I'll share her link once I've got it.
I've met Georgina before at Plus North and at the Shopping day but we'd never had a chance to properly speak. She is lovely and look she made a new friend.
Georgina also had time to have a little Q&A which was really interesting and I have a lot to learn in the blogging world.
Katie then did the giveaway right after the Q&A which was a lovely touch as people who needed to go early were still in with a chance of winning. I know these are often incentives to stay but with a relatively small group it worked well.
Giveaway prizes were provided by:
Library of Fragrance
Sadly I didn't win but well done to those who did!
Two brands attended the event itself and each of the representatives gave us a talk about their brands and had tables set up so we could check out the products.
Stella and Dot
Stella and Dot have been featured in a number of fashion magazines and I know at least one person in my real life circle of friends who would love pretty much all of their items.
They don't sell in shops but have "truck" parties in peoples homes (think Tupperware / Ann Summers) they also sell online.
It was nice to see the jewellery in real life and be able to pick it up and try things.
Nathalie who is an ambassador for the brand gave up a presentation about the brand and then we were able to check out and test some of the products.
I swatched a couple of the palettes but I didn't think they were right for me.
I had such an amazing afternoon, It was lovely to meet people I've been chatting too for a while and new people.
A special mention to Lorraine from The Uncheshire Wife who was the first person to come up to me, recognising me and saying hello. I believe she also mentioned the Venue to Katie when she was looking for places and came across as such a lovely person. I'm looking forward to seeing her again at Blog On MOSI.
We were also treated to a goodie bag and despite it being two weeks since the event I haven't properly unpacked everything. I did take a twitter picture but then I packed it all back up to be sorted later and it's later and I haven't done anything with it!!
The things I'm most excited by are the brooch and the stylfile as well as the skincare. I'm hoping to fit in a full post of the goodie bag once I've got round to unpacking it and having a proper look at everything.
