Blogger of the Month - Just an Idea

Sunday, April 19, 2015

I want to run something past you all and would really appreciate your feed back on an idea i've had going round my head for a few months.

I'd like to start a Blogger of the Month feature but I don't really know where to start. I have two ideas and would really like your input on which you'd prefer or neither or any ideas you have let me know.

Idea 1:

I create a questionnaire to send to other bloggers I'd like to feature asking them about themselves and their blog. hrow me Idea's what would you like to know from my blogger of the month?

Idea 2:

I create a list of questions that I answer about the blogger I want to feature. Things like: How I came across their blog. My favourite type of post from them. Throw me Idea's what would you like to know about my blogger of the month?

My thinking behind the questionnaire format is for consistency and I don't lose the plot and ramble too much. I will ramble but it might be more concise rambling. Maybe?!?!?

Which would you prefer?

My other thoughts in this process is not to leave people out while at the same time there are so many bloggers I know I can't feature everyone and don't want to offend anyone.

In the words of Brucie "You're my favourite"

How should I pick my favourite? How should I create my post and who are you're favourite bloggers at the moment?

One other thing I was thinking of is to create a badge to say "blogger of the month" yadda yadda and asking the favourite to display it on their blog if they wanted to. Do you think this would work?

Do you do a favourite blogger of the month? How do you structure it? What have you learned from the process and what would you do differently?

Please let me know any thoughts you have. If you don't want to leave a comment you can tweet, email, facebook me.

Thank you

  2. You are entitled to your opinion however if you can't say anything nice or constructive such as why you don't like the idea I suggest you don't leave comments.

  3. I like the idea - I like finding out about people, like how they started blogging and why, if they have any unusual jobs or hobbies etc. I prefer option 1, think it would be easer to be consistant. :-) xx

  4. Unlike 'Meg' I think its a lovely idea, personally I think the second format is a good option as I always like to hear how people found new blogs and what keeps them coming back. x

  5. I think it's a great idea Steph and I think both your ideas are workable. The questionnaire idea seems especially good as you can email it to bloggers who can fill it out in their own time, and then you could schedule the posts in advance. xx

  6. YES.
I like the idea. Love a bit of community loveliness. Mayyyyybe.... ask them a few questions. It'll give you a chance to learn stuff about them as well as give your readers insight. Also... have your blogger of the month ask you a question or 3 to answer for yourself? xx

  7. I love the idea of showing your apperception of a blogger that you have lover over the last month! And on the options I like the idea of getting your followers involved and I like the idea of you have you voice too so maybe putting them together would be a good point!

Hope I helped in some way!

P.s. Love the blog as always!

  8. Thanks Nikki,

I think I'm going to try and combine both idea's. I need to sit down and write some questions for me and my nominee to answer and try and get it straight in my head what I want from these posts xx

  9. Amazing idea! I love the idea of getting them to ask me some questions.

As it stands now I'm going to do a combination of the two but I will add in your idea of offering them to ask me a question or three.

This is why I love you lovely lot. Your all so supportive and helpful xx

  10. I think it is a great idea, I saw you post about this earlier and thought it could work very well! I like Option 1 would probably be the easier of the two, but then the second option could work equally as well! Looking forward to seeing this once you decided on the format. S x
