Murder of Goths - Custom Art WorkWednesday, October 14, 2015
For a few months I've noticed a lot of the bloggers I follow changing their profile pictures to incredible digital portraits by Kathryn (MoG) from Murder of Goths and I knew I wanted one of my own. The only problem was. I didn't have a picture of myself that I liked enough to be recreated digitally until the Weekend of Style XL when Sharon took this picture of my with my camera.
I am so happy with how this has turned out, I can't stop looking at it and I'll admit I actually cried when I opened the email at work. After a tough couple of weeks she sent me the image back super quickly. I'm not sure what the usual time scales are but when I sent my images off I'd decided to leave it 10 days if I'd not heard back about it. I follow her and have seen how many of these she's doing so thought it was only fair to allow that amount of time.
MoG had also asked if I was happy for the image to be used on her social media and in a facebook group she'd asked if people where happy for the image to go in a collaged image to be put on a tote bag. This also meant that the image would be available on mugs and another host of products.
I had to order a tote bag and a mug, the bag is still en-route but I'm elated with the mug. There was three options for the mug a larger size but the sides where sloping / conical? (do you know what I'm on about?!) From the sample they showed online I felt the picture would get distorted. I know someone else who has ordered one so I can't wait to see how it looks in real life.
The delivery time is 11 calendar days and I think mine came under that time frame which is always a bonus. It was well packaged and the print quality is really good. I love how vibrant the red of the skirt has turned out.
I was torn about using this mug as an actual mug, but I wanted to prove to you that I am using it on one of the rare occasions that the posh coffee machine was working.
