The Joy of PanTuesday, November 01, 2016
I finally picked up the courage to start my YouTube channel by joining the panning community. This year I set myself the goal of panning 16 specific products but as the year as gone on, i've lost a little bit of focus and I don't even know which of those products I'm still working on.
However I know I have used / decluttered more than 16 items of make up this year and as I've switched my focus to trying different open products every couple of week and find out what I like. Making sure I get rid of things I'm really not like. Not forcing myself to use things up If I really hate them.
Saying all this I still get a little spark of joy when I hit pan on things. Before trying to pan products I don't think I ever really got to the end of a product but now I am getting through products and it's a great feeling.
Over the last month I hit Pan one two products I wasn't trying to use up, I'm just using because I've bought them.
The first it the L'Oreal BB Powder. I don't love this product but I keep reaching for it and it was such a good feeling to see the initial tiny glimmer of pan. I've now used more than the photo shows with all the centre square being clear.
I don't think I'd buy this again but it does the job well but I don't really know what it is about this that I don't like. I guess there is nothing really but I can never say it's a favourite.
With the powered I knew it was only a matter of time before I hit pan as you could see the shadow of pan (that's what I call it but it's the metal ridge in the pan you can just see in the picture)
With the Tanya Burr pallet I was shocked when I hit pan, I really didn't see it coming and It made me wonder If I could try and pan the whole thing in 2017.
I adore this pallet which is called fairy tale. Three matte shades and one shimmer, it works really well for work looks and I also use it for nights out. The only colour I don't use is the black but I'm sure with practice I could try and use it. (note to self - Do a YT search for ideas)
