Use 7 By Spring 2017 | Update One - February 2017Wednesday, February 22, 2017
In January I started a new panning challenge. Use 7 by Spring - 2017. I picked out 7 products that I like, rather than products I want to get rid of. This may be a little different to a lot of other panning challenges that I've done.
I have so many products and I have made the decision not to save things for best.
My seven items are:
- Seascape – Soothe Body Butter RRP of approx. £20.00 for 175ml
- V05 – Smoothly Does It RRP Approx. £4.00 for 100ml
- Revlon – Lip Butter 035 Candy Apple RRP £7.99 for 2.55g
- Soap & Glory – Heel Genius RRP £5.50 for 125ml
- Essie – Grow Stronger RRP £8.99 for 13.5ml.
- L’Oréal – Pure Clay Glow Mask RRP £7.99 for 50ml.
- Balm Balm – Lip Balm RRP £5.50 7ml.
- Maybelline – Colour Tattoo in Crème de Rose RRP £4.99
I'm pleased to say I have finished two of the products in February and I have use all of the products at least once.
The two products that are now empty are Balm Balm, lip balm and L'Oréal Pure Clay Glow mask.
Balm Balm – Lip Balm RRP £5.50 7ml.
Empty - February 2017. It is not just a lip balm and can be used as a multipurpose balm. I have used it a few times on my elbows and around my cuticles. I wasn't keen on the scent which is rose and geranium. They are some of my least favourites and together it would usually be a no go situation. As I received this in a goodie bag I decided to try it, knowing I could pass it to a friend if I didn't get on with it and I did like it. Would I buy it again? No, however, if I got one in a beauty box I would use it. I'm not sure why I took the completed picture with the lid on, but trust me this is totally empty.
L’Oréal – Pure Clay Glow Mask RRP £7.99 for 50ml.
Empty - February 2017. I enjoyed using this mask. I have previously said it is my least favourite of the three in this range and I do stand by that. It is a lovely product, for me, I would have preferred it to be smooth and not have the gritty exfoliating properties. That may have taken away from it's "Glow" quality. My skin felt soft, clean and fresh after I'd used it.
I used the max between one and two times a week and didn't notice a difference in my skin depending on how often I used it. I would happily buy this again if it was on offer at around £5/6 but I don't think I would buy it full priced. I would also prefer it to be in a tube rather than the glass container. I found it quite messy to apply and I did drop the safety seal lid on my bed when I first got it and I did stain. I was also worried about dropping the glass pot in the skin or bath and smashing them (sink, bath or pot). I will admit I'm clumsy and this may not be an issue for most but while it may look nice out on a dressing table. I'd prefer practicality over style.
I'm pleased to have completely used two products. I think the difference has been, I'm using products I like. Products I want to use rather than products I want to get rid of.
I have been consistently using all the products I picked for this challenge apart from one. It will be no surprise to anyone to discover the product I haven't used it the Soap & Glory Heel Genius. It sits by my bed. I don't even have an excuse why I haven't used it.
The Essie Grow Stronger Nail Strengthener has been used a number of times but there didn't seem to be very much progress between the original photo and now so I haven't included it but I'm hoping there will be a decent change by the final next month.
The other product with no viable difference is the Maybelline Colour Tatoo. This is a year long item.
The remaining three items do all have visible progress, this make me happy and I wanted to give an update on how I like these products.
Seascape – Soothe Body Butter RRP of approx. £20.00 for 175ml
A product that follows me round. This was in last years Use 16 in 2016 Pan Challenge and I didn't manage to use as much as I would have liked.
Body Butter is a product I rarely use, I have lots of it and this is a beautiful product and I have no reason not to use it.
I have managed to remember to use this almost every time I've had a bath or shower and it doesn't take as much effort as I think it does.
This product has a lovely fresh scent and does smell exactly like the lavender plant outside my house. The product is very thick and the texture reminds me of sudacream. It does take a bit of effort to work the product into the skin but it is worth the effort and it is nice to use before bed as the lavender scent is very relaxing.
I'm just under halfway through this product and I'm confident I will have used it by the end of the project.
V05 – Smoothly Does It RRP Approx. £4.00 for 100ml
I've made some really good progress on this product. I have used it every time I've washed my hair and while I don't always (Rarely to never is more accurate) use a hair dryer to dry my hair. I have noticed a difference and I think I will miss this product once it's gone.
It's a medium thick cream that you put into, towel dried hair and I have had this for a long time. It is time to use it up and I will be looking for something similar in the coming weeks.
Revlon – Lip Butter 035 Candy Apple RRP £7.99 for 2.55g
I have been suffering from a cold sore which has stopped me from using this. I can see some progress.
I've worn this at work and at weekend. The formula of this is beautifully soft and it is easy to layer the colour and build it up into a more intense colour.
I wanted to show all the products together, so I have something to benchmark against at the end.
I've enjoyed seeing progress of products that I like and I'm confident that I will used 2 or 3 more of these by the end of the challenge and have good progress on 1 or 2 more.
