Seeing...Films | My Limitless Card and 2018 Films

Wednesday, January 02, 2019

Ever since my town got an Odeon cinema after not having one for a very long time, I’d been thinking about buying a limitless card but never got round to it.

Earlier this year I got an email through for 13 months for the price of 12 which I thought was a good deal. There is also a 5% discount when you pay in advance. I decided to use some money from my savings to buy it outright.

The pass started on 10th March 2018 and up to 26th December 2018 I have watched about 25 films. I’m not 100% sure I’ve made a record of all the films I’ve watched but from a paper list and going through the calendar in my phone, I think this is the majority of them. I did see a few films earlier in the year but I’ve only made a list of the ones I’ve used my pass for.

I’m doing this post now as I’ve realised, I’ve finally broken even (in slight profit with the pass). I’ve paid to upgrade to premium seats and for isense a few times for a couple of reasons. Some of these reasons include the film only being shown in premium or isense screens. My cinema is quite small. There are only 7 screens and one of those screens only has premium seats.

I have watched some films more than once, either because I’ve really enjoyed it or I’ve watched it with my mum and then with friends.

Another thing I’m really proud of is that I’ve been to see a number of films by myself. This is something I’d never have done in the past. The only other time I tried, I walked out of the film after about 15 minutes. Luckily that was another time when I had a Cineworld pass.
The films in the order I watched them in:

Red Sparrow
Early Man
Ladybird
Finding Your Feet
The Greatest Showman
Ready Player One
Peter Rabbit
I Feel Pretty
The Book Club
Show Dogs
A Wrinkle in Time
Oceans 8
Incredibles 2
Mama Mia 2
Mama Mia 2
Christopher Robin
King of Thieves
Bohemian Rhapsody
A Star is Born
Widows
Nativity Rocks
Fantastic Beasts 2
Fantastic Beasts 2
The Grinch
Mary Poppins Returns

I’ve given each film a rating from 1- 5 and I’ll talk about them in groups. I’d love to know if you have watched any of these films and if you agree with my scores.

I haven’t given any 1 star although it was a tough call on a few of these. Over the next few weeks, I’m going to give a bit of an overview on each star rating This was going to be one long post but I’m about halfway through writing it and it was over 1600 words long. Plus it gives me 4 weeks’ worth of blog content!! Mwhahaha.
