Birthday Afternoon Tea

Thursday, May 02, 2013

Hello Lovelies,

Last weekend me and three of my friends went to a local venue called Talking Point for Afternoon Tea. To celebrate my Birthday (only 9 days early!)

The building used to be a church (St. Pauls) and has had a refurbishment and is now a wedding and Conference centre.

Inside it is very modern, 2 mezzanine levels and they still have the stained glass windows which are beautiful. This window is just as you go up the stairs to the first level.

The table was set with beautiful vintage china, It was everything you could want for afternoon tea.

How amazing is this teapot? our second pot was a more modern pale pink affair, sadly I forgot to take a photo of that one.

real leaf tea, we had a bit of an Issue with the tea strainer but it provided us with a bit of entertainment!

We also got two plates of sandwiches, I've only been for afternoon tea 3 times and these sandwiches were by far the best.

Fresh bread and yummy fillings - Ham, Beef and Horseradish, Egg Mayo, Cheese and Pickle, Cucumber and Prawn Mayo

We also got a three tier cake stand full of cakes.

We had to stop one friend eating her Scone first! (The Law of afternoon states Scones are eaten last)

It was around £18 each for Afternoon Tea and we had a couple of extra soft drinks each.

I don't really know the price of Afternoon Tea in other places but I think this was good value for what we got.

There was the option to upgrade a Lavish Champagne afternoon tea for £25.95 but sadly I had too much of a headache to enjoy this one.

I've just spotted they have two more dates lined up 19th May and 2nd June. I'm not sure I can go back on any of these dates but if you are local I'd highly recommend it.
