2014 - Idea's

Saturday, December 28, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

2014 is just around the corner and whist I don't really make resolutions I do want to make some plans of things to do.

1. I really want to do 365 photo. I actually want to do 3, this is a bit ambitious I know! The first one I want to do is a general 365, get a picture everyday it doesn't matter what it is. I might try and follow some of the photo a day lists on isntagram, or I might just take a picture of anything. The second one is a bit narcissistic and it is to take a selfie aday, face, body, feet just me! This one will be kept just for me and if I manage it I might share at the end of next year. The final one which is impratical is to take a photo a day of the same place at around the same time. I might try and fit this in monthly.

2. I'm carrying on with most of the blog challenges I took part in last year: #OMCZ, Fatshionologie, Just another blogging challenge, Magnificent 7th. I won't be taking part in ARC as I failed miserably this year and I don't even feel bad about it! (well I do a bit)

3. I'm hoping to start another blogger fashion challenge but I'm still thinking up a name any idea's are greatfully received.

4. I'm going to be re-starting weight watchers / heathly eating. I'm still paying for it and not going. I feel lousy inside and out. My insides hurt, my joints hurt, I feel like my batteries are wearing out. I need a plan to stick to.

5. I'm going to get better at blogging, I need to buy a laptop and set aside some time each week and plan what I want to blog and actually do it.

6. I need to see my friends in real life, I haven't seen anyone since October!

7. Go to some blog events

8. Meet up with people I've met through blogging people i've met before and others I chat to regularly.

9. Go on holiday - yeah I know I do this every year but I really need one!

10. Grow my hair - I'm bored of short hair, my goal is to get it up in a bobble! (sad but true)

11. Learn to like myself

I'm looking forward too 2014, I dislike the number 13 and i'll be glad to see that back of 2013

Christmas Dinner

Christmas Eve Meal

Friday, December 27, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

I know a lot of people have been sharing pictures of what they had for their Christmas day meal, but I didn't actually take any food pictures on xmas day. We had a buffet it was delish and 99% of it got eaten.

On Xmas eve my mum invited my gran (her mum) over so we could have a christmas dinner as none of us had had one so far apart from the shocking one I had on my works xmas do and i've banished that one from my mind!

We had tempura prawns to start, with some sweet chilli dip, they were a last min addition so we didn't have any garnish!

For mains we had Xmas / Sunday dinner, Turkey crown, carrots, cabbage (instead of sprouts just as windy) roast parsnips and potatoes, with paxo/bisto stuffing and gravy.

Apart from missing sprouts but I can forgive that it was bloody good!

After a rest we did have afters but no photo and I'm not 100% sure what it was. It was a mouse with berries and it was yummy.

What did you have for xmas dinner?

Did you have it on Xmas day or like me Xmas eve?

Plus Size Secret Santa

Thursday, December 26, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

A while ago Elena tweeted to see if any PSBloggers wanted to take part in a secret santa, I was already doing the secret santa giveaway on the blog and I jumped at the chance to be involved in one where I'd get a present!

I Posted I was really chuffed at who I got to buy for and I was excited to find out who would be my secret santa.

I've been eagally stalking FB and Twitter to try and guess who was my Santa but I didn't work it out but I was so chuffed to find out Mookie was my Santa.

I did it I took pictures and read the card which is adorable

I got a snood and earphone clips with a cord saver.

How cute are they!

I need to dig out my earphones and get them all wound up!

Once again thank you Mookie!

Do you do secret santa? What is the best and worse things you've ever received?!

Bedroom update - Wallpaper

Sunday, December 22, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

We have some more bedroom updates.

I now have the wallpaper up on the walls and I love it.

My mum and gran up it up last week and I picked up some silvery grey curtains from Primark for £20.

They could do with an iron but they might not be staying so we're not going to expelle any extra energy we don't need to!

I'm getting rid of the pink lamp and it doesn't really go anymore (It never did) so I've borrowed my mums bedside lamp to be going on with.

We've moved my old furnature back in for the time being as it's going to be the end of January at least before the joiner come to do the fitted wardrobes as he hasn't been back again to discuss what door's we wants so he can order them.

I've told the pink plastic drawers to try and blend in and act sliver but it's not doing a right good job!

The yello thing in the washing basket & the washing basket are going to be going along with the lamp.

What do you think so far?

Secret Santa

Secret Santa - The Work Edition

Friday, December 20, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

Today We swapped Secret Santa presents at work and it was a triumph! Last year we had a couple of people forget their gifts or were off sick so some people (me included) had to wait till later to get their gifts.

This time everyone had brought their gifts in even if they wern't in today!

My gift was so nicely wrapped, sadly I was a bit too eager to open it to get a photo.

I have to say this year was my best ever secret santa gift and I'm so chuffed with it. I made sure I bought my person a fab gift and I was a bit worried about getting something crappy in return.

I got this fab tub which is very much like one I was going to get a while ago.

Inside were two brooches, this fab button one.

and this lovely flower one, I can't wait to wear them.

There were also two pairs of fluffy socks

Which have to be the softest socks i've ever felt!

Some coal cinder toffee, how fab does this look.

We had three guesses who our santa is, I was totally wrong! Another girl on my team got it right and I have a feeling my Santa had a little bit of help from a certain Red Rose Mummy as my Santa was her other half!

I was his secret santa about 4/5 years ago and I must admit my gifts to him were beer googles and inflatable boxing gloves!

I love my gifts and I'm so please I got something that is so very me!

Thank you both!

What did you get for secret santa?!

#OMCZ 22 - Work Wear

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

Sadly I didn't manage to catch up with the last challenge but i'm back and I feel like i've done another cop out outfit. So apologies in advance

Date Due:  Wednesday, 18th December
Challenge: "Work Wear"

Hollie wrote:

"Work wear is so boring and I have to spend 9 hours a day in an office! Show me how to spice up work wear in whatever way you can. I want to look smart / casual but still fashionable! It's so easy to hide behind a desk but I want to walk through the office in style. Come on ladies, show me your sexy secretary look or your quirky call centre attire!

Can't wait for the inpiration! :)"

Hollie, I'd like to apologies I went for a KISS out fit, Keep It Simple Stupid and I also wanted to make sure I got my post done so i've gone with the dress I wore for work on Monday!

I tend to always wear dresses with leggins and then jeans on Fridays.

I love this dress you have all seen it before and I have 3 of them.

It's the dress I modelled at Plus North back in September and I love it, it's really nice fabric. it's a good length for work and I always feel quite smart when I wear them.

I tend not to wear accessories for work. This is a pretty typical work outfit for me.

What do you wear for work?

Soap and Glory

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

It's that time of year when the Soap and Glory set is on offer, I'd totally forgotten and as it's the weekend before payday I knew I couldn't afford / justify getting one. On Saturday we went into my local boots and they had 100's of the sets but I managed to resist saying that I don't get paid till friday so I'll have to do without.

When i got home I was clearing my purse of old receipts and found the £15 gift card I won from Willow and I was saving for the after Christmas sales.

Sunday we went back and with £12 borrowed from my mum to pay the remaining I got myself one.

I love the pattern of this years bag and it's nice to see the zip back around the top.

I think for £27 it's a pretty good deal, I couldn't bring myself to pay £60 for it.

When I opened it up there has been a leak, the body wash's lid wasn't on properly. I was going to take it back but I really can't face lugging it round with me. There isn't too much split and luckily ther cardboard box saved the bag itself from being marked!

I'm looking forward to my morning shower now to use the body was as it smells amazing!

Pookaledo Christmas Suprise

Monday, December 16, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

I wanted to share a little suprise I received in the post last week.

I received a Christmas Card from Sarah who owns Pookledo, in the card was the cutest snow flake earrings.

I met Sarah last year at a clothes swap in Leeds and I've reviewed a brooch and bought a few items from her and the card she sent was a lovely personal touch and I never expetcted the earrings.

I wore them on friday to my works Xmas meal and I managed to keep them in all day. I'm looking forward to getting paid this week as I've got my eye on a necklace

Bedroom update

Sunday, December 15, 2013

Slowly but surely things are moving on with the home renovations.

Things are moving slowly and plans keep changing and I know it won't all be done till mid January at the earliest.

The tale so far, a while a go my gran offered to buy me some new wardrobes and I had to have a mass clear out, in fact I had to have about 3.
a few weeks ago I bought a new light shade then me and my mum went to housing units and I saw some wardrobes we thought would work.
My gran wanted us to get a price from a joiner for fitted wardrobes, he took his time with a price and in the mean time my romm got empted out save for the bed and empty wardrobe, two of the walls then got stripped and new wall paper purchased as the painting was a bit patchy.

We had actually given up hope of the joiner come back to us with a price and had planned to go back to free standing but he's dropped a quote off and we're going to go with it.

The new carpet was also ordered and the carpet shop are on standby to fit as soon as we give the go ahead.

I really can't wait till it's all done!

I've got 7 outfits left and only one item left to wear from the list.

blog birthday

Blog Birthday

Saturday, December 07, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

In July last year I discovered plus size fashion blogs and I instantly felt at home and started blogging on the back of a weight loss blog I had that was more of a weight gain blog if truth be told!

It was a thing I wanted to be involved in but It wasn't until November I decided to move to a new blog address and then in early January I decided to change the name and Seeing Spots was born.

This means I found it really difficult to decide when my blog anniversary should be, On facebook it says 25th November and maybe next year that will be when I celebrate it.

I've decided to go somewhere in the middle of starting the new blogger account and becoming seeing spots.

Don't get too excited it's just a few bits and bobs from wilkos, I love popping in and browsing. Last time I was in I picked up some of my current favourite items to giveaway to one lovely reader.

I love stationery and would happliy have a new note book over a giant slab of cake! I'd have a new book every day if I thought I could get away with it! Which is the reason I picked this as a prize.

The give away will run until New Years Eve and I will post out early in the new year.

Giveaway ends 31st December at 12:00 Open to Residents of the UK only.
Winner will be selected by Random.org and be notified by email.
Winner have 48 hours to respond before a new winner is selected.
Facebook, Twitter and Google+ are in no way associated with this giveaway.
By providing your information in this form, you are providing your information to me and me alone. I do not share or sell information and will use any information only for the purpose of contacting the winner.

Good Luck!

Latest In Beauty - The Glamour Beauty Edit

Friday, December 06, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

After reading a few tweets about the Latest In Beauty - The Glamour Beauty Edit box and I decided to treat myself to one.

I in no way claim to be a beauty blogger but I wanted to share this with you as I think it is a really good box.

What I liked about it is that I knew exactly what would be in it before I bought it, and I didn't have to sign up to a subscription.

The box cost £14.95 plus P&P and is meant to be worth £65

The box is really lovely and would be fab as a present (Plus boxes are easy to wrap win win)

One of the reason I bought the box is because it has products in I will use and need or wanted

Maybelline - Babylips, This is something I've almost bought a couple of times and talked myself out of. I have loads of lipbalms and I don't really use them so I'm glad it was in the box.

HD Brows, My brows are the bane of my life. I'm really lazy and leave it ages between getting them done. Saying that I have had a benefit brow wax which I love.

I've been using an MUA brow kit which I really like but it's running out and i'm looking forward to giving this a try

Eyeko Lash curlers - This is another product i'm excited to try.

These curlers feel much nicer to hold than any i've used in the past

Philip Kingsley - One More Day, I use dry shampoo a couple of times a week so I will be good to give this a try

Benefit They're Real, I've been thinking about buying this and keep meaning to borrow steal the one my mum bought on the plane. I had a mini make over a while ago and they used this on me but I wasn't confident i'd be able to use it properly.

Balance me face oil,  This is the only product I might not use. I have quite oily skin so I'm a bit reluctant to add more oil, however I will google some reviews before I totally write it off.

Toni and Guy Hairspray - again hair products and me don't always get on well. I have decided to grow my hair so this might come in useful to try and tame the mane!

All in all I'm really chuffed with my box, I haven't used any of the items yet. I'm saving most of them for my works xmas do tomorrow might so I'm hoping they will all do me proud.

Watch this space i'm sure i'll be blogging my favourites!

do you get a beauty box? which one? Would you recommend a subscription?

30 x 30 Outfit Challenge Week Three Round Up

Monday, December 02, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

Wow can you believe we're at the end of the third week, time really has flown.

I still haven't replaced the batteries in my proper camera and now my room is completely empty so I have no where to rest the camera in lieu of a tripod so please excuse the dodgy mirror shots.

My week Started on Sunday not the usual Saturday as I felt lousy and didn't get dressed!

Sunday was a bit of a whirlwind we decided to pop to housing unit to look at bedroom furniture and since then we've ordered a new carpet, my room has been empted, painted white and the gloss has been done, new wall paper has been chosen and we're waiting for a joiner to come back with a price for fitted wardrobes!

This week i've been through the list and I'm trying to wear things I haven't worn before, I love this Green dress from Excite clothing and it goes so well with my Sister Vintage bunting necklace, this was worn to work and it's so comfy and easy to wear.

Another day another dollar - work again, I feel that this pink clove skirt is really short on me but in the mirror it looks quite an ok length.

I was going to a baby shower after work at Richmond tea rooms so wanted to make a bit of an effort, the grey top is actually a dress, but It's pretty short so I wore my Pink Clove teal skirt to make it work appropriate.

I was on a course all day so I knew I needed to be comfy and our meeting rooms are either boiling or freezing so I went with a sleeveless dress with a thick cardie.

DDF (Dress down Friday) I was on the course again all day, so comfort was key, I'm not sure about the top. I have it in black which I love but the striped one.

Saturday was another day of sorting, packing up, moving stuff and a trip to the charity shop to off load 5 bags of stuff!

We nipped to a local bed shop and sainsburys where despite my vow not to buy anything new, I came out with a christmas jumper and a onsie! ops!

No Spreadsheet or graph for you today but as of Saturday there were only 2 unworn Items on my list so my pledge this week is to wear those two Items! :0)
