Black Toothpaste is the new Black - A very pleasant surprise!

I was recently contacted and asked if I would like to try a sample of black tooth paste from Beverly Hills Formula

Beverly Hills Formula’s first ever black toothpaste -Perfect White

My initial reaction before saying yes was "BLACK TOOTHPASTE!" eh! this goes against all that we know, there is a quest for whiter than white pastes but I was also curious.

My teeth are less than perfect and I seem to be on an on going quest to get my teeth to feel really clean. I also imagined it would be a dull grey black and feel gritty (I don't know why, maybe I was mixing it up with clay or thinking of charcoal for a BBQ)

The toothpaste is a shiny black and smooth, very smooth. I used it for a week before I went on holiday and was really impressed. The black stays for the first couple of rinses but soon vanishes. It doesn't leave black stains on the sink and has a really mild flavour.

The black comes from activated charcoal (Carbon) and has been used for centuries as  a safe and effective tooth whitening ingredients as well as having tooth whitening properties it can also helps combat plaque, gum disease and bad breath.(yay)

It also leaves my teeth feeling really clean and the freshness lasts longer than my regular toothpaste.

I came home from holiday wishing I'd taken it with me and also to a tube half gone as my mum had found it and has been using it. She is going to repurchase it and I have re-purchased two tubes.

It cost around £5 a tube which is on the more expensive side but I think it's worth it and isn't too much different from other brands which has whitening toothpaste.

I don't want to comment on the whitening effects as my teeth are speckled (I know not good) I had braces which weren't removed professionally by a dentist / orthodontist and will never be white, white.

The Beverly Hills Formula range of toothpastes are proven to be less abrasive than many regular and teeth whitening toothpaste brands, so they are kinder to your teeth and are suitable for children* and everyday use. As I mentioned before I expected it to be gritty and I think I've had whitening toothpastes in the paste with this texture.

Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White Black Toothpaste (£4.99/100ml) is available from Superdrug stores Nationwide. Its also available on Amazon

*Children between the ages of three and six should use a pea-sized blob of toothpaste and should be supervised when brushing their teeth.(see packaging for further details)
