Latest in Beauty - The Ultimate Pampering Beauty Box

Friday, January 16, 2015

Ok so I wasn't buying any more beauty boxes in 2015 and I failed in the first week of January. Oh well I got lots of pretties!!!

To be fair I have cancelled all of my subscriptions for now and I'm only going to buy one off boxes but I couldn't decide which box to get so I got two.

There is 30% off the normal price of £24.95. I know I'm trying to justify myself but we all have our vices.

Look at how pretty the packaging is. I know it's a bit late but these would make ace Christmas Presents.

What I like about these boxes apart from the one off nature of them is you know what you're getting. There might be some exceptions such as shade of certain items but within reason you know if you are likely to use most of the products.

The only downside of these boxes for me other than they are more expensive than surprise boxes (you do tend to get a lot more than subscription boxes) is in some ways it feels like they are using up products from boxes they haven't sold from other boxes they've had.

This could just be because I've had a few of their boxes. However the reason I got this is because there are products I've had before that I really likes and I'll mention these later on as well as other products I haven't had that looks really good and from brands I've used before that i've liked.

What do you get for your money:

1x Balance Me Moisture Rich Cream 25ml

I've got other Balance me things from beauty boxes and I really can't remember if I've used them or not. I like the packaging on this and will save it for when I go away.

1 x Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy 25g

I can not get enough of this brand of hand cream. I've had two from beauty boxes / goodie bags and I got a set from Boots January Sale. I did also buy a lot of hand cream in the sales so this will be added the the pile. I go through a tube this size roughly every two weeks so I feel it's justified having so many.

1 x Essential Care Cream Coconut Cleanser 30ml

This isn't a brand I've heard of before it seems to cover a lot of skin types which I find a bit confusing but looking forward to trying it. I think Coconut scented products remind me of Holiday.

1 x John Masters Organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo (30ml)
1 x John Masters Organics Citrus & Neroli Detangler (30ml)
Shampoo and detangler from the same brand. They might not be the same flavour but at least they came as a "set". Again this is one to be put away for a weekend away.

1 x Maddi Alexander Mistletoe Kisses Natural Room Spray 50ml

It might be January Christmas might be a distant memory but I love the smell of this and this will be used for the foreseeable future. It smells warm, fruity and wintery more than Christmassy. I don't think it's something I go out and buy for myself as I usually prefer out door smells (Fresh Linen, ocean type scents)

1 x Percy & Reed Abundantly Bouncy Volumising Hair Mousse (50ml)

This is another product I've had in previous boxes. I'm not a massive user of mousse. I have used this a few times when I want to curl my hair and liked it but as that's a rare occurrence I'm happy to have another mini.

1 x RITUALS Miracle Scrub Ginseng & Ginkgo Biloba Ultra Softening Hand Scrub (75ml)

I've only ever used one other hand scrub to my knowledge (A Gok Wan one from a Boots Christmas set a couple of years ago) and I really liked it. It's never been something I've gone out and looked out to buy. I'm looking forward to trying this. I'm prone to Eczema and my hands are constantly dry which is why I go through so much hand cream so I'm excited to see if this helps.

I've tried a fee Rituals products and liked them all so I have high hopes.

1 x RITUALS Zensation Organic Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom Foaming Shower Gel Sensation (50ml)

This sold the box to me. Yep I could have bought a full size product for £8.50 /200ml  (That's a bit much for a shower gel in my book but I am oh so tempted)

This is the shower gel I took on holiday this year, so it will for every remind me of Tenerife. I love the smell. How it makes my skin feel and I got about 10 uses for this size. If I did a favourites post for 2014 this would be in the top 10.

1 x Sanctuary Spa Active Resurface & Refine Ultra Polish (15ml)

I didn't take an individual picture of this but it's the purple tube in the main picture. Again another product I've had before. I bought this as a one off product from Latest in Beauty when I bought a beauty box earlier in the year. It was also a product that went on holiday with me.

When I'm away especially somewhere where I will be using sun cream I have to exfoliate. I could have done with two of these for my ten day break but that's probably because i'm not cautious with my usage.

I love the fine but gritty texture. I don't remember the smell and I haven't opened this one yet.

Another one for the holiday samples drawer.

1 x Amphora Aromatics Orange & Clove Candle
Being honest this is something I could have lived without but it actually smells really nice. I usually hate the smell of cloves but mixed with the orange it smells great.

1 x Lindt Milk Chocolate Novelty Hollow Figure 10g

Errr no picture. it didn't last long enough to get a picture. It was very tasty!

  1. OMG that is an AMAZING box!!! I love the look of the Rituals products the most. This year I intend to try more Rituals things as I have only tried the body scrub in the orange tube as of yet and loved it! xxx

  2. Thank you. Even though I knew what was in the box when I ordered it I was still surprised how good the box actually was.

I've got another box from the same company which I'll be posting about later in the month. xxx

  3. I really want to try a beauty box this year. I've never justified signing up to any of them (not heard many good things) and some one off boxes I see I keep missing :(. Will defo have a look for one coz the mini samples could be good for when I go on hols too xx

  4. I started out by buying the one off glamour boxes from latest in beauty.

it might be worth you registering on latest in beauty or other places you've seen one off boxes as they'll send out news letter. They do email quite often which can be a pain but at least you shouldn't miss out.

Last year i had three subscriptions

You Beauty - I didn't really rate this and although you can pick the two main items. I either got a bad colour as that's not optional or the value of the items were about the same price as the cost of the box so It wasn't really worth it. I might as well gone to superdrug.
Glossy Box - A bit hit and miss but over all good value for money
Birch Box - I really liked what I got and think this was the best value. But i've heard the most negative comments about these boxes on social media.

I didn't think this comment would be so long

I love reading all your comments, so make sure you leave me one x
