February Goals - Advice needed
Wednesday, February 01, 2017
In January I picked out some of my goals and
decided to focus on them.
I succeeded, I initially set a year end target for
each platform, then I worked how many followers I need to gain each month to
reach these targets. I then engaged with people. I tried posting less on my blog, but
joining in with facebook groups and I hit and exceeded all my targets:
YouTube: 14 ahead of target
Google+: 9 ahead of target
Bloglovi: 25 ahead of target
Pinterest: 84 ahead of target
Facebook: 36 ahead of target
IG SW: 119 ahead of target
Instagram: 100 ahead of target
Twitter: 74 ahead of target
Google+: 9 ahead of target
Bloglovi: 25 ahead of target
Pinterest: 84 ahead of target
Facebook: 36 ahead of target
IG SW: 119 ahead of target
Instagram: 100 ahead of target
Twitter: 74 ahead of target
I know a lot of this growth is new year, lets grow
our following but I'm hoping that by getting ahead now I can keep up momentum.
Numbers are not the be all and end all for me but it's nice to see all of these
platforms growing. I believe I've had more engagement, I've not measured this in any way but I've had more mentions, notifications etc than in previous months and i'm not going to lie, it's a really light feeling.
In February I'm going to continue to try and grow
and I've decided to keep the same year end targets and work out based on where
I am now how many new followers I need to stay on target.
Now February is here I'm shifting my focus to
producing better content. I'm still planning on posting less.
My Blog and YouTube Schedule will be:
2 posts a week on this blog. Wednesdays and
Saturdays.
3 Videos a week on my YouTube channel. Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Sundays.
The areas I want to focus on are better pictures,
which I will edit. I do feel like I'm going to go down the classic Beauty
Blogger flat lay format and may have bought / dug out some props! (do people
hate this? I quite like it???)
Putting out better quality Instagram pictures and
using IG as a way to promote my blog. Often it's coffee, random picture and the
odd Gin & Tonic picture. Tag in brands as well
I'm going to also try and put out a separate image
for IG, Facebook and Pinterest. I need to decide if I want to pick one template
and use it for each platform and always use it or do I do something different
for each post. Any advice is welcome.
Also do you always produce specific sized pictures for blog posts? I've been either using whatever size my camera gives them or just uploading the IG /Pinterest / FB edits and I think this is something I should spend some time deciding on.

Thumbnails for YT will also be made. Again I need
to decide if I stick to one template for every post, I did that for a long time
but it was all text but now me and Canva are friends I think I will be using
that for the most part. Again input welcome.
The other area of focus inline with The UK Bloggers group will be looking at Pinterest. Learning how to use it and focus on growing and interacting on it as a platform. I would love to meet my end of year target by the end of February and only have 62 to go. It's a fairly low target so it could be achievable, looking at January growth.

Those are my February aims and goals, nothing too
dramatic but I think it's all achievable. A lot of these things I've been
trying to do for a while but I think I need to knuckle down the details and
work out what works for me and stick with it. I know I can always change but
for me I need structure and I often spent so long planning I don't have time to
do. I think it is worth spending that time planning. Help me out internet, what
do you like seeing on blogs. What do you recommend?
I'd also love to know how you're getting on, have you succeeded so far & any plans afoot for February?

Wow, 119 extra on IG is brilliant. I'm pleased you've achieved all your goals for January. Mine for Feb are to gain an extra 100 on IG and continue working on my IG feed x
ReplyDeleteI love this list of goals! For awesome instagram images I use a few different apps for editing- VSCOcam and Snapseed are the ones I swear by!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing really well on your goals being ahead of your targets on all platforms. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteAll the best for February. I don't really set goals, but i think it's good to achieve them x
ReplyDeleteSome fab goals. I feel too new to blogging to make blogging goals, mine are more individual to me, but common for others e.g. pass driving, go abroad this year, increase reading and continue writing more x
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals lovely! It looks like you did brilliantly in January so keep doing what you're doing and I'm sure you'll smash February's too!
