Recently I was lucky enough to be invited to Bella Italia for an event where they show cased the new for summer La Notte Rosa menu. La Notte Rosa or Pink festival which is a famous festival in parts of Italy.
In celebration, Bella Italia has decorated their restaurants in pink decorations and lights at the windows.
One of the nice things about Bella Italia is not only do they source their products in Italy they share the farmers stories on the website and menu which delivers more to the experience, this morning I was having a quick look before I started writing this post and found myself reading about the passionate basil farmers on the Cortino family who supply the pesto used in the Pizza Rosa Copa.
The summer menu is filled with fresh ingredients featuring grilled watermelon with goat cheese and balsamic dressing and antipasti of mixed meats with tomatoes which isn’t something I would have ordered from the menu but as it was an event we had the chance to sample all the different options and I had to have more as one wasn’t enough.
Other options include a watermelon salad and the Pizza Rosa Copa which is my kind of pizza as it doesn’t have the tomato puree base.
For watermelon and salami lover this menu is perfect for you.
As well as the summer food menu there are drinks perfect for a summer’s day. They also include Virgin Watermelon Cooler or for an alcoholic version with Absolute Vodka. I like that they have a virgin cocktail option. I tried both of these are despite having a bad experience with watermelon flavoured drinks it was delicious. It had a true watermelon taste rather than an artificial melon flavour you get sometimes in cocktail mixes.
The other drinks include Cipriani Bellini – you can’t beat a classic Bellini and this for me is a perfect pre-dinner drink. They also have a Strawberry Campari Spritz and the one which I think would be my favourite but I haven’t tried it is the Strawberry Gin mare Lemonade. Anything Gin based has me won over at the moment.
The food was delicious and all the staff we very friendly and helpful. One of the people around up didn’t eat pork and they arranged for the pizza to be brought out without salami and took care to remember this when they came round with the trays of food.
